Cuthrell Family Bible

Earlier this week I was given some family papers from someone who was downsizing. I was a bit under the weather and when I tried to go through one bag of Cuthrell family papers, the moldy smell just didn’t agree with me.

I was feeling a bit better today, so I took the bag, a table, a paint brush, and went to the back porch to clean them up a little before organizing and filing them in my collections of papers.

About 10 minutes into the cleaning process, I pulled out the pages from a Cuthrell family Bible! It is the center part of the Bible that includes the Births, Marriages, and Deaths. Unfortunately, only the Births page had any writing.

The information from the Bible is as follows:

Hollon Elizabeth Cuthrell was born April the 12th A.D. 1853

George Fedrick Cuthrell the son of Hiram Cuthrell and Holon Cuthrell his wife was born April the 22 A.D. 1881

Verginia Catheren Cuthrell the daughter of the same Parents was Born January the 16 A.D. 1883

William Thomas Cuthrell the son of the same Parents was Born June the 21 A.D. 1884.

As I continue cleaning pages in the Cuthrell collection, I may discover more family information. Although I am not directly descended from Cuthrells (that I have discovered, yet) there are branches of the family that have married into the Cuthrells. Any future major discoveries will be posted.
