When the city of New Bern was first incorporated, the commissioners of the town were allowed to sell lots within the town.
Below are links to three files showing the owners of lots as recorded in Craven County Deeds books through Deed Book 51 as abstracted by the late Dr. Bruce Pruitt. Rita Denton went through each abstracted book and copied the information for lot owners. Research from the late Elizabeth Moore was also consulted and entered with the notation “Moore Book” in the notes field.
Rita then entered the information into a form that I created. I then imported the data into Microsoft Access and generated the reports linked below.
